About Barnstaple Town

Barnstaple Town are a Devon club nicknamed the Barum, formed in 1904 and based at Mill Road in Barnstaple. They were founder members of the North Devon League and won the inaugural title in 1904–05.

They compete in the Southern League Division One South for the 2026/27 season. In 2025–26 they finished 1st of 18 in the Western League Premier Division and were promoted.

Mill Road has a capacity of 5,000 with 250 seats and 1,000 covered. Floodlights were installed in 1988 and inaugurated with a friendly against Aston Villa.

Established as Pilton Yeo Vale in 1904, the club adopted the name Barnstaple Town the following year. They reached the FA Cup first round on four occasions between 1951–52 and 1972–73, with a record crowd of 6,200 for a first-round tie against Bournemouth in 1954–55.

After Western League Premier Division titles in 1952–53, 1979–80 and 2025–26, Barnstaple returned to the Southern League in 2016. They were relegated in 2021–22 before climbing back via the Western League, finishing first in 2025–26.
