About Basford United
Basford United Football Club are based in Basford, a suburb of Nottingham. Nicknamed the Lions (also the Ambers), they were formed in 1900 and play at Greenwich Avenue in the Northern Premier League Midlands for 2026/27.
After rapid non-league progress through the Central Midlands, East Midlands Counties, Midland and Northern Premier leagues, they finished third of 22 in 2025–26 after relegation from NPL Premier in 2024–25.
Greenwich Avenue has been their home since 1991 and was redeveloped from 2016 with a 3G stadia pitch and modern clubhouse following major investment.

Basford moved through several Nottinghamshire amateur grounds before Greenwich Avenue became their home in 1991 after Mill Street was redeveloped for housing. They won the inaugural Midland League title in 2014–15 and NPL Division One South in 2017–18.
A £750,000 pitch and facility upgrade in 2016 included installation of an artificial 3G stadia pitch backed by a Football Foundation grant. The club's record attendance at Greenwich Avenue is 3,500 vs Grantham in 1937 at a previous ground.
