About Bootle

Bootle Football Club are based in Bootle, Merseyside, and play at the Berry Street Garage Stadium on Vesty Road — also known historically as New Bucks Park. Nicknamed the Bucks, they compete in the Northern Premier League West for 2026/27.

The modern club was formed in 1953 as Langton before adopting the Bootle name in 1973. They returned to the North West Counties League in 2006 at Vesty Road and were promoted to the Northern Premier League West at the start of 2021–22.

Bootle won the NWCFL Division One title in 2008–09 and the Liverpool Senior Cup in 2012–13. They finished sixth in NPL West in 2025–26.

An original Bootle F.C. existed from 1879 and reached the Football Alliance and Football League Second Division before folding in the 1890s. The current club began as Langton in 1953, dominated local Liverpool County Combination football, and moved through the Lancashire Combination, Cheshire County League and North West Counties League.

After Bucks Park closed, Bootle were elected back into the NWCFL in 2006 at Vesty Road. Runners-up in the NWCFL Premier Division in 2017 and 2019, they secured NPL West status in 2021–22.
