About Congleton Town
Congleton Town Football Club — the Bears — were formed in 1901 and are based in Congleton, Cheshire. They play at the Cleric Stadium in Ivy Gardens and compete in the Northern Premier League West for 2026/27.
The club is fan-owned via a community benefit society. After Mid-Cheshire, Cheshire County and North West Counties League success, they won the Midland League Premier Division and League Cup double in 2023–24 to return to the Northern Premier League.
Congleton finished third in NPL West in 2024–25, losing the play-off final to Hednesford Town. The Cleric Stadium main stand holds 250 seats with covered standing on all four sides.

Congleton played on Chaddock-Lowndes field before moving to the West Field — now Ivy Gardens — in 1903. They were Crewe & District League champions three times from 1901–02, later winning three Mid-Cheshire League titles and the Cheshire County League in 1981–82.
A community takeover in May 2014 placed the club in supporter ownership. The 2022–23 season brought a Cheshire Senior Cup and NWCFL Cup double, FA Vase semi-finals and BBC-televised FA Cup action before Midland League promotion in 2023–24.

On approach from the M6, pass Tesco Express and at the next roundabout take the second exit, continue past the fire station, take the second right into Booth Street and the Cleric Stadium is at the top of the road.
