The club's origins trace to Runnymede Rovers in 1877 and Egham in 1905. After closing during World War II, Egham Town reformed in 1963 and won the Spartan League in 1971–72 and Combined Counties Premier Division in 2012–13.

They joined the Isthmian League in 1977, left for the Combined Counties League in 2006 and returned to the Isthmian South Central in 2017–18. Record attendance is 1,400 against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup in 1972–73.

By car

From M25 junction 13 take the A30 south, follow The Causeway through the roundabouts at Sainsbury's, turn right onto Thorpe Road (B3376), over the level crossing, then via Pond Road and Wards Place to the ground (eghamtownfootballclubltd1991.co.uk).

From the A30 London direction use the Staines bypass to M25 J13 and follow the directions above. Avoid Tempest Road — it is narrow with resident parking (eghamtownfootballclubltd1991.co.uk).
