About Erith Town

Erith Town are based in Thamesmead in south-east London. Nicknamed the Dockers, they were formed in 1959 as Woolwich Town and currently groundshare at the Stanmore Stadium on Bayliss Avenue.

They compete in the Isthmian League South East for the 2026/27 season. In 2025–26 they finished 16th of 22. The club won the 2023–24 SCEFL play-offs to reach Step 4 for the first time.

Erith Town moved to share with Sporting Club Thamesmead in June 2023. Kay Deveney became the club's first female chair in summer 2023.

The club began as a Sunday league side, winning the London Metropolitan Sunday League Senior Section three times before switching to Saturday football in 1991. They were renamed Erith Town in 1997 after moving to Erith Stadium.

Erith Town's most successful season was 2023–24, winning the SCEFL Challenge Cup, Kent Senior Trophy and promotion play-offs. Alan Hanlon holds the record for appearances with 363.
