Gorleston left the Recreation Ground for Emerald Park in 1982, groundshared at Lowestoft's Crown Meadow in 2022–23, then moved to the Wellesley Recreation Ground from 2023–24 after Emerald Park was destroyed by arson in November 2022.
The club reached the FA Cup first round in 1951–52, drawing 2–2 at Leyton Orient before a 0–0 replay at the Recreation Ground set a record attendance of 4,473. They have won the Norfolk Senior Cup 19 times.
