About Hallam
Hallam are one of the oldest association football clubs in the world, based in Crosspool on the western edge of Sheffield. They play at Sandygate, recognised by Guinness World Records as the oldest football ground in the world.
The Countrymen won the world's first football tournament, the Youdan Cup, in 1867. After promotion via the 2024–25 NPL Division One East play-offs, they compete in the Northern Premier League East for 2026/27.

Sandygate opened in 1804 for Hallam Cricket Club; Hallam FC have played there since 1860. The world's first inter-club match was played at the ground on Boxing Day 1860 against Sheffield FC.
The pitch sits on a slope and offers views from three sides: the Shed End, Main Stand and Cricket Net End. Capacity is 1,665 with 250 seats. Floodlights were first used in 1992 and the ground has undergone recent grading and facility improvements.
