About Hornchurch
Hornchurch Football Club is based in Upminster in the London Borough of Havering and plays at Hornchurch Stadium. Nicknamed the Urchins, the club’s lineage dates to 1881, with the present club reformed as AFC Hornchurch in 2005 and renamed Hornchurch after 2018–19.
In 2020–21 Hornchurch won the FA Trophy, the first seventh-tier club to do so. They finished National League South runners-up in 2025–26 and won promotion to the National League via the play-offs.
Hornchurch Stadium opened in 1956 and was renovated in 2004. It is also used for athletics and sits on Bridge Avenue beside the River Ingrebourne; the Riverside stand is named the Colin McBride Stand.

Hornchurch Stadium opened in 1956 under Hornchurch Urban District Council and is owned by Havering London Borough Council. Wikipedia lists around 3,000 capacity with about 800 seats and covered standing.
The ground has a synthetic 400m athletics track. The Riverside / Colin McBride Stand faces the River Ingrebourne. Havering Mayesbrook Athletics Club also use the venue.
Away Fan Seating
According to the club’s visitors guide, fixtures are generally not segregated unless advertised. Away fans are advised to use the away fan zone on the Riverside. The main entrance is from Bridge Avenue.
Getting to Hornchurch Stadium
By Train
The nearest National Rail station is Upminster (Fenchurch Street–Southend/Shoeburyness). Turn left out of the station and follow Hall Lane / St Mary’s Lane towards Bridge Avenue (club visitors guide).
By Tube
Upminster Bridge on the District line is the nearest Underground station. Turn right, pass under the railway bridge, then take the second right into Bridge Avenue.
By Car
From M25 junction 29 take the A127 towards London, then follow signs for Upminster. Continue via Hall Lane and St Mary’s Lane into Bridge Avenue; the stadium is about 200 yards on the right (club visitors guide).
