About Nantwich Town

Nantwich Town Football Club are based in Nantwich, Cheshire. Nicknamed the Dabbers — a reference to the town’s tanning industry — they were founded in 1884 and compete in the Northern Premier League West for 2026/27.

The club won the FA Vase in 2006, reached the FA Trophy semi-finals in 2015–16, and have qualified for the FA Cup first round proper on three occasions (2011, 2017 and 2019). They finished 9th of 22 in NPL West in 2025–26.

Home matches are at the Swansway Stadium (also known as the Weaver Stadium) at Kingsley Fields, opened in 2007 at a cost of about £4 million after leaving Jackson Avenue.

Stadium History & Features

The Swansway Stadium opened on 7 August 2007 with a friendly against Port Vale and was officially opened by Sir Trevor Brooking on 10 October 2007. The main Swansway Motor Group Stand seats around 300; the Whitby Morrison Ice Cream Vans Stand on the north side holds about 295 standing supporters.

Success under Steve Davis brought FA Vase glory in 2005–06 and back-to-back promotions into the NPL Premier Division. The grass pitch was replaced with a 3G surface in 2023. Record attendance at the ground is 2,078 for the FA Trophy semi-final first leg against FC Halifax Town in March 2015.

Getting to Swansway Stadium

By Train

Nantwich station is about a 10–15 minute walk from the Swansway Stadium. Turn right out of the station, follow the road to the roundabout, turn left, continue to the traffic lights by the River Weaver, cross and keep following the main road — the ground is on your right.

Nantwich is served primarily by Manchester–Cardiff route services. A taxi from the station takes about 3–5 minutes and typically costs £5–10.

By Car

Nantwich is about 15 minutes from junction 16 of the M6. Follow official directions on nantwichtownfc.co.uk/the-swansway-stadium/ for routes from the A530, A534 and town centre.

Limited parking is available at the stadium on a first-come basis; for busy games the club recommend Snow Hill leisure centre car park (free after 3pm), about five minutes’ walk away.

By Bus

From Nantwich Interchange, walk into town, turn right at Home Bargains, pass the swimming baths and follow the main road — the stadium is ahead on the right.

Travel Tip

Use Snow Hill leisure centre car park for bigger games — the stadium car park fills quickly and on-street parking near the ground is discouraged.
