They compete in the Isthmian League North for the 2026/27 season. In 2025–26 they finished 15th of 22. They earned promotion to Step 4 by winning the 2023–24 ECL Premier Division play-off final against Mulbarton Wanderers.

Newmarket's first permanent home was the Heath near Sefton Lodge before they moved to Cricket Field Road in 1885. The record attendance of 2,701 was set for an FA Cup first qualifying round tie against Abbey United on 1 October 1949.
The club have won multiple Suffolk Premier Cups and an ECL Division One title (2008–09). Floodlights were erected in 1985 and the seated stand installed in 1996.
An artificial pitch was installed in 2016 and inaugurated with a friendly against Cambridge United that drew a crowd of 1,827.
