Shaftesbury won the Dorset Junior League in 1905–06 and the Dorset Senior League in 1932–33. They were founder members of the Dorset Football Combination in 1957–58 and won that league in 1988–89 and 1996–97.

Tesco built a sheltered stand estimated at 200–300 capacity when planning permission for a clubhouse extension was refused. The ground is leased from Shaftesbury Town Council.
