About Stanway Rovers

Stanway Rovers Football Club is based in Stanway, near Colchester, Essex. The modern club was founded on 10 July 1956 (an earlier Stanway Rovers existed from 1922). Nickname: Rovers.

After winning the Essex Senior League in 2024–25 they played in Isthmian North, finished fourth in 2025–26 and won promotion to the Isthmian League Premier Division via the play-offs (final against Redbridge on penalties).

The ground is known as the Hawthorns and, from 2024/25, under sponsorship as the FND & KMCO Community Stadium. Record attendance: 1,043 against Redbridge in the play-off final on 2 May 2026.

A 99-year lease dates from 1979. The Hawthorns clubhouse opened on 18 November 1982; floodlights were inaugurated in 1992 against Norwich City. Wikipedia lists capacity at about 1,500 (100 seated).
