Stadium History & Features
Tilbury moved to Chadfields in 1947 after refusing to become a feeder club for Clapton Orient when their previous ground was commandeered during World War II. The record attendance of 5,500 was set in the 1949–50 FA Cup fourth qualifying round against Gorleston.
The club reached the FA Cup third round in 1977–78, beating Kettering Town and Nuneaton Borough before losing 4–0 at Stoke City. They won Isthmian Division Two in 1975–76.
A two-level concrete stand replaced the original grandstand in 1970; a seated west stand was added in 1996. Floodlights were erected in 1966 and a clubhouse built in 1958.
