Waltham Abbey won the 2008–09 Isthmian League Division One North play-offs by beating Concord Rangers on penalties to reach the Isthmian Premier for the first time. They won the London Senior Cup in 1998–99 with Dean Green scoring a hat-trick in the final.

The club's origins trace to Waltham Abbey Youth Club playing at Capershotts during the Second World War. They won the Essex Junior Cup in 1975–76 and the Essex Senior League Cup in 2004–05.
