Winchester City renamed from Winchester Swallows in 1894 and adopted their current name in 1907. They joined the Hampshire League in 1898–99 and have progressed through regional leagues to Step 4.

The ground features a 180-seater main stand, covered terraces, floodlights, and the 'Bus Shelter' terrace behind one goal — home to the Bus Shelter Band supporters.
