How to Request Account Deletion
- Send an email to hello@followaway.com
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request" (or similar)
- Include the email address associated with your Follow Away account so we can identify and delete the correct account
- We will confirm once your account and data have been deleted (typically within 30 days)
What Data We Delete
When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise the following:
- Account information: Email address, display name, account type, and subscription status
- Profile and preferences: Home postcode, selected football team(s), nearest train station, and notification preferences
- Check-in data: Your check-ins to fixtures, fixture details, and check-in timestamps
- Push notification token: The token used to send you push notifications
- Device and app usage data: Device type, operating system, app version, and usage data linked to your account
- Location data: Any stored postcode or location data associated with your account
What We May Keep
- Legal obligations: Data we are required to retain by law (e.g. for tax, fraud prevention, or legal proceedings)
- Backups and logs: Data may persist in backups or system logs for a limited period (typically up to 90 days) for security and troubleshooting, after which it is securely deleted
- Anonymised or aggregated data: We may retain data that has been anonymised or aggregated so it can no longer identify you
Retention Period
Once we process your deletion request, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days. You will receive confirmation by email when the process is complete. Any data in backups or logs will be removed in line with our retention schedule (typically within 90 days).
